This map shows the main sewers, overflows and rivers that make up the Manchester Main Drainage System.

Work on Manchester's initial interceptor network was started 1889 and resulted in of 21 interceptors labeled A-V (excluding I) some 56km in length. The extended network was built from 1911 to 1973 and comprised of 16 new 'Work' interceptor sewers referenced by number, eg Work 4.
