This large brick and stone culvert takes the River Medlock around 600m near Philps park. I had a look around this culvert on a weekend afternoon walk, only wellies are needed really as the water flows in a channel through its center. At points it breaches the channel and gives a slippery passage over wet stone.

A set of stairs brings water into the culvert from above, with an interesting setup where the water sprays into the channel from behind an obstruction.

It had been a while since I'd been here, so thought it would be a good place to return and test out some new gear.

Not allot had changed in the last 4 years apart from a grill going missing from the side pipe near the infall. This allowed access to a concrete chamber with a drop pipe, unfortunately the ladders and everything else that could be unbolted were gone too.
