This drain is in one of Manchester's surrounding northern towns and was a bit of a stooper, 3ft RCP being king here.

The outfall was quite nice with a series of steps down to the river, into the drain a short distance was a small manhole chamber. After this was a dropshaft where the level of the drain was raised up about 8ft, looking similar to Lowdown Drain. The pipe at the top was accessible via step irons but transversing a 3ft hole in the floor of a 3ft pipe didn't seem appealing.
