The treatment works at Ringley takes the sewer flows from Bolton, Radcliffe and Prestwich. Despite there being plenty of storage in the system sometimes the levels coming into the works are too high and screened sewerage spills straight into the Irwell.
The first shot is the CSO outfall and the last is the treated water coming out of the works.
